National Seminar entitled " Indian Economy: A Prospective Outlook" on 03.03.2018
The Department of Commerce had organized a National Seminar entitled " Indian Economy: A Prospective Outlook". The chief guests were Dr. S. Rajendran, Profesaor of Economics, Gandhigram Rural Institute, Dindigul and Dr. A. Sugirtharani, Assistant Professor of Ecocnomics, Periyar University, Salem. The seminar provided an opportuniy for the participants to gather knowledge on various domains of economy.




One day National Conference on “Rejuvenation of Banking Industry in India” on 28.02.2018
The Department of Commerce with Computer Applications of our college organized a one day National Conference on “Rejuvenation of Banking Industry in India” on 28th February 2018 in the College Premises. Dr.N.Jaganathan, Dean Commerce (CA) welcomed the dignitaries and delegates and explained the purpose and content of the topic chosen for the conference. Dr.M.Daniel, Principal of our College gave a Special Address emphasizing the relevance of the topic in the current Indian context. Dr.Shankar Chatterjee, Professor and Head National Institute of Rural Development, Telengana inaugurated the conference and spoke on the Problems of and Solutions for Non-performing Assets of Banks in India. Dr.T.Joseph, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Commerce of Loyola College at Chennai Chaired the technical session and outlined the major issues that led to the amalgamation of public sector banks and recapitalization for Banks. Four technical sessions were conducted on various themes of the conference. About 51 Papers were presented in the technical sessions. Dr.M.Sumathy, Dean, School of Commerce, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore delivered the valedictory address elucidating the need for rejuvenation of Banking Industry in India and distributed prizes and certificates for the Best Papers and paper presenters.




A workshop on Tally Using GST on 23 & 24/02/2018
A workshop on Tally Using GST was organised by the Department of Commerce on 23 & 24/02/2018 for the III B.Com students. The lectures and training were provided by E-Smart Education and Technologies. The training delivered the conceptual and practical exposure to the students pertaining to real time applications.




National Level Seminar on “STARTUP and ENTREPRENEURSHIP” (ZENITH-18) on 19/02/2018
A National level seminar on “STARTUP and ENTREPRENEURSHIP” was conducted by the Department of Business Administration, Dr.SNS Rajalakshmi College of Arts and Science (Autonomous) on 19/02/2018 in which 200 students participated. The programme was prevailed by the principal Dr.M.Daniel and inaugurated by Mr.Sethuraman Sathappan, Chief Operating Officer, India, Emirates NBD Bank Mumbai, who also spoke on ‘startup India’. He brought forth several statistics that showed the alarming state of affairs in terms of start up business and financial sources for entrepreneurship. This was followed by an expert lecture from Mr.Karthi Eswaramoorthy, Co-Founder and President, Ticket Goose.com Bangalore. spoke on the topic “Possible Impact of Startups Incubators” and third speaker Ms.Kasthuri Shanmugam, Standard Cartons, Coimbatore spoke on the topic of Entering the Startup era.




Guest Lecture on “How Journalism differs from Theory and Practice” -11.1.2018
A Guest lecture on “How Journalism differs from Theory and Practice” was conducted by the Department of English on 11/01/2018 for the students of III BA English. Miss.S. NIVEDHA, a reporter in “The New Indian Express”, Coimbatore, delivered a lecture on “Journalism”. She shared her experiences about how she collects the news from the society with the students.




Faculty Development Programme on “Internet of Things and Cloud Computing” -30.12.2017
The Department of Computer Applications (BCA) has organized a One Day Faculty Development Programme(FDP) on “Internet of Things and Cloud Computing”on December 30th 2017 by by Mr.A.Kalyana Saravanan, Assitant Professor, Department of Computer Technology (UG), Kongu Engineering College at Ranga Hall, Dr.SNS Rajalakshmi College of Arts and Science. The FDP was conducted with the objective to enhance their knowledge in the current technologies. The Resource person was blended theoretical and practical examples emphasizing on total solutions for IoT, Cloud Computing and Big-data.
