The Department of English was established in the year 1999. BA English Literature programme was started in 2010 and MA English Literature Programme in 2013. Autonomous status was conferred in the year 2011. Part-time M.Phil & Part-time Ph.D was started in the year 2010 & 2011 respectively. We have been having a Language Lab Since 2008.



OBJECTIVE 

  • To foster global competencies among the students and impart value based education.

The Department aims to equip the students with an in-depth knowledge of Language and Literature and to improve the power of communication. It also strives to make their study of Language and Literature relevant to the current time.

MISSION

To instill in young men and women an awareness of self-identity and kindle in them a thirst for knowledge and thrust towards a meaningful fruition of their life through the empowerment of their personality.

It is considered as one of the most demanded courses in terms of career and personal growth. It covers subjects such as English literary studies, criticism, pedagogy, theories, etc, along with the Prose, Poetry, and Drama.
